About
About NOBE
We live in an era where competition between technology based industries has forced companies to significantly redefine themselves. Employees are expected to work in cross-functional teams that understand both the technical and business aspects of the industry. The National Organization of Business and Engineering (NOBE) provides a learning environment that helps bridge the gap between business and engineering that is not only essential, but natural.
The goal of the National Organization for Business and Engineering (NOBE) is to bring together students with interests in both business and engineering to corporate and academic institutions that promote the integration of these fields into one practice. We strive to establish mutually beneficial long-term relationships with these institutions, in the hopes of providing our members with a deep understanding of how these two branches are essential in today's business world. Together with our partnering institutions, we will able to influence tomorrow's work force - molding them into the leaders of tomorrow.
National History
In 2006, a member of the Society for Business and Management in Engineering (SBME) at the University of Illinois proposed the idea to take the organization to a national level to gain exposure and recognition, while providing an environment for students all over the nation who are interested in business and engineering. SBME contacted similar organizations at three other universities with this idea, and since then, students from the four universities have been collaborating on the creation of the National Organization for Business and Engineering. In 2007, this vision became a reality, and NOBE is now a growing national organation. In early 2009, the first expansion chapter at Drexel University was formed, and NOBE is currently expanding with new chapters starting this year.
